Retaining Walls - 'Tip in' Gabion Basket and Large Bluestone Rock
We can construct a bespoke retaining wall that is unique to you and your construction project and landscape needs. We pride ourselves on the walls we construct.
- 'Tip in" gabion rock basket retaining walls
A 'Tip in' gabion rock basket retaining wall is constructed using welded wire mesh baskets filled with ballast or rip rap rock and tipped in to the basket giving a unique un-uniformed look.
We typically use bluestone or sandstone from quarries we have a excellent relationship with to be able to offer the best finished result.
These baskets look great and give a point of difference in any construction and landscaping projects. These walls are more architectural pleasing than a boring sleeper retaining wall.
We construct these baskets in various sizes and to suit the space as required. We use either bluestone or sandstone to fill these baskets.

We have a very close relationship with a local quarry at victor harbor that allows us the be able to select and source block style bluestone that is ideal for block style retaining walls.
Due to the size and shape of this rock these medium / large and extra large rock is ideal for building large retaining walls for domestic or commercial projects from start to finish.
We take time selecting the best rock for your project as it comes down to the time spent selecting and placing the rock that gives you the best finish at the end of the project and leaves you an amazing result.
- Why are these walls better than a Sleeper Retaining wall and do they cost more?
A generic sleeper retaining wall we understand have their place in the industry and do cost less than the walls we offer due to the fact a sleeper retaining wall is a mass produced product that is generally a quick process in all aspects.
These walls we construct are bespoke walls meaning the are constructed for purpose and there is more labor intensive and the products needed do cost more but overall you end up with a one off unique retaining wall.
These walls are better because at the end of the project you end up with a wall you'll love instead of just another retaining wall.
These walls are also better for the environment than you typical concrete retaining wall with the use of minimal to no steel, minimal to no concrete, minimal to no waste and more natural products used.
in almost all steps of creating sleepers, making the steel and making concrete there is harm to the environment. We do use some of these products in making our walls but the % compared to a traditional sleeper wall is minimal or sometimes none making this a eco friendly option for any construction

We also can offer other solutions for your drainage issues from inground pits and piping to French drains to help with draining and waterlogged areas.
- Erosion Controls
We use different techniques to slow or eliminate the effect of erosion caused by runoff or stormwater.
These techniques we use are drains to divert water and medium / large rock (armored rock, riprap and ballast) to slow the runoff of water that often causes ruts and cuts in the earth.
the rock helps stop wear due to the hardness and has elongated particles that helps slow and breaks the water slowing or eliminating erosion.
We regularly use these and other techniques to stop erosion in areas such as drains, pipe and headboard inlets and outlets, dam overflows, dam headwalls, creeks, creek / river banks, designed runoff areas, etc.
- Crossovers, Pipeworks and Culverts
We can construct and install water crossovers and pipeworks as per requirements. These crossovers can be constructed out of various materials as per requirements and is used to direct water from one point to another (one side of a driveway to another)
These are usually constructed using pipes between two headwalls (culvert) and can have ballast or rip rap at the entry and exit depending on what is required or where the pipe is being laied
Dam Cleanouts and Repairs
We offer dam cleanouts and general repairs.
Overtime silts and other materials build up in you dam meaning the overall capacity of water getting stored in your dam is reduced.
Generally your main source of water meaning a healthy dam is a healthy farm or rural property.
With the right equipment and techniques we use we can clean out the build up in your dam over the years.
We have the ability to repair washed and damaged headwalls and damaged / eroded overflows.

- Site Cleanup and Cartaway - We can clean up and remove excess spoils from site.
- Block stripping cleanup and Pre -construction works - We can strip the site of grass and dispose of the spoils and get the site ready for your construction or clean up for sale.
- Contracting - We offer contracting services to other earthmovers, tradies or builders.
- Vineyard clearing, vine pulling and stump pulling - We can clear and remove existing vineyards and vines either for replanting or general land clearing for a variety of reasons (New Builds, Farm land,Etc.). We have specialized tools for removal of vines without needing to remove wires or posts or if needed we can clear whole vineyards posts and all.
- Trenching / Septic excavation - As part of our contracting services we regally work with plumbers to do trenching and septic digs. We also do trenching for agriculture, landscaping and viticulture works.
- Bulk Quarry products - We can assist in delivering quarry materials to sites and work with many suppliers.
- Bulk fill import and pushout - We can assist you with importing and sourcing fill to build up an area and push this fill level for you.
- Back fill, Certified fill / Level 1 Compaction, base preparation and testing - We have the skills and techniques to offer an certified level 1 compacted fill base prep. All done as per requirements with layered fill and certified tests with results.
- Rock Breaking - We can offer rock breaking services and removal of rock from site.
- Skidsteer Laser Leveling - We have a bobcat with a grader blade that connects to a laser system that allows level or graded pads and areas
- Sieve and bucket screening - As part of our remediation services we have equipment that can clean up a site and remove rock and material that isn't ideal for use on site
- Landscape preparation and contracting - As part of contracting services we contract to landscapers for site preparation and construction as well as truck hire and bulk import
